All it takes is elementary knowledge taught in High School Economics to show that tariffs throughout history have enriched America.
When imported goods cost less than a U.S. made product cannot compete then America losses.
Foreign countries have taken advantage of destroying American manufacture by exporting to America products like steel that are cheaper due to the country's use of slavery for cheap labor.
A good example is China...
