Irrelevant to the conversation. Track back. Why would we invade NK? What is the national interest for the US in invading NK?
Because the Soviet Union and later China/Russia wouldn't allow it. And they, of course, have their own nuclear deterrents. Don't you find it a little weird that whenever we negotiate with the Norks, the goal is always to get them to give up their nukes? The one weapon they have that keeps the US at bay is the one we want them to give up.Ok... why didn't we invade 1953-2006?
Money, and a staging ground literally right on the border with China. Why would we invade NK? What is the national interest for the US in invading NK?
Why would the Soviets nuke US troops in NK?Because the Soviet Union and later China/Russia wouldn't allow it
Because they were allied, and ultimately had an obligation to protect one another. Same reason Russia won't invade the Baltic states. Nuclear umbrella. It's always been about nukes. Why would the Soviets nuke US troops in NK?
Why would China nuke US troops in NK? What prevented us from invading 1953-1964?
What pictures from Gitmo?Oh, he has command experience. You remember those pictures of detainees at Gitmo being subject to abuse? He was a platoon leader, probably the 84th Troop Command but I need to do more research. He was an infantry platoon leader in Iraq where he did see action. He became a captain in 2012 and went to Afghanistan where he was a senior counter insurgency trainer. How did that turn out? NOT SO GOOD.
He has no senior military or national security experience. I really don't know if he could qualify for an even midlevel security clearance, but apparently, Trump is going to hand those things out without an FBI review. Quite frightening.
The man is a disgusting, racist, pig. He is 96.4% Scandanavian, who even brags about something like that? While married and working at Fox he had an affair with his producer and they had a baby. Had he done that in the military he would have been court-martialed and spent some time in the brig. At FOX, well it is SOP.
I mean I knew, and I warned you all, this administration is going to be a total shit show. I just didn't think it would happen this fast.
Money?Money, and a staging ground literally right on the border with China.
Who did you want? Liz Cheney?A former national guard major is now Sec Def
Brilliant.
My guess here is you've fought exactly zero wars. Which would explain why you're so eager to start one.Why would the Soviets nuke US troops in NK?
Why would China nuke US troops in NK? What prevented us from invading 1953-1964?
Well, I agree. But the regime in Washington doesn't care about the lives of our children. To them, we're literally livestock that just exists to work for and pay taxes to them. I'm telling you what their motives are.Money?
How many US lives are worth securing a base to launch a theoretical future war? Are you sending your kids to fight that war? Tell you what, you and your sons head out me and mine will be right behind you, promise....
I should have caveated my question then. What are GOOD reasons for the US to invade NK, not the bullshit reasons some politician who doesn't have to fight the war might feed the American public.Well, I agree. Nada. Zilch. No North Korean has ever tried to groom my child into being a tranny. No North Korean has ever called my a white supremacist. They never did anything to me.I should have caveated my question then. hilariousPeace through strength just makes wars more devastating when they happen. You can buy all the weapons you want, but nothing trumps the nuclear card.
Well at least we have eliminated 1 person from the Sec Def position.....hilarious
Not at allNonsense. Nuclear literally turns conventional into nothingness.
Thats insaneMoney, and a staging ground literally right on the border with China.

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday named Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and military veteran, as his pick for defense secretary.
In a statement, Trump described Hegseth as "tough, smart and a true believer in America First."
"With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice — Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down," Trump said.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., applauded Trump’s selection, calling Hegseth a “great choice.”
“Pete brings a lot to the table. He’s got experience, and I think he’ll be reform-minded in the areas that need reform. So I’m excited about the pick,” Johnson told reporters on Capitol Hill, without elaborating on what programs he thinks need changing.
Commentary:
Let Pete answer for himself...

Before joining Fox in 2014, Hegseth served as an Army National Guard Captain in Iraq and Afghanistan.www.nationalreview.com
Just think, that if Kamala elected the alternative would have been General Milley Vanilli.
Personally, I like the choice, Hegseth has no stone to grind. os a retired major and has been in the trenches. He didn't need to have his card punched.
I'm sure that people like former retirees like Gen. Keane,
Col. McGregor and others....
