Wide open borders, doubling people's income tax rates, a hostile take over of the health care industry, being force to pay for other people to go to college for "free," blowing trillions on a New Green Deal, pandering to men who think they're women, and telling white people they suck bothers people a whole lot more. It is odd that certain politicians are teflon coated. Even after all these years, for example, Reagan is still regarded as great by some.
Others make one mistake and are ruined forever.
The Trump phenomenon is particularly interesting and difficult to explain.

It's not that complicated. His supporters are driven by their hatred, which he keeps stirred up, and they don't care about the damage he is doing. If his childish actions insult or anger any non-Trump supporter, that's good enough for them. Doesn't matter what the real results are. They enjoy hearing him lie. Not so much because they enjoy lies, but because his lies anger their enemy.

Actually he is doing exactly what I wanted a president to do. He is checking every ******* box I wanted checked. And the list is the same as what he said he was going to do. He hasn't check all boxes, none of them do. But he's checked more ******* boxes than any other president I've lived through by a long shot.
