U.S. president says move is response to Ontario's 25 per cent surcharge on electricity for 3 states
Yep, as I warned on here. It's easy for Doug Ford and his police buddies to violate the rights of citizens in Ontario as there is no accountability. Just as the RCMP do at a federal level without accountability.
Quite another issue to believe these same abusers can do a thing to the U.S and their economy if the U.S decides they don't want to allow it anymore.
Trump doing precisely what I expected he would. I'm sure the W.H and State Department have PLENTY of details of Canadian abuses going all the way back to the Obama administration...
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he has instructed his commerce secretary to put an additional 25 per cent tariff on all steel and aluminum coming into the United States from Canada, bringing the total tariff on those products to 50 per cent starting Wednesday.
The president said the move is in response to Ontario's 25 per cent surcharge on electricity shipped to 1.5 million American homes and business across three states.
"I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to add an ADDITIONAL 25% Tariff, to 50%, on all STEEL and ALUMINUM COMING INTO THE UNITED STATES FROM CANADA, ONE OF THE HIGHEST TARIFFING NATIONS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD," Trump posted Tuesday on Truth Social.
