This country spends so much time debating if Trump actually means what he says.I highly doubt that he actually believes that. I lean towards thinking it's deliberate dishonesty, as opposed to stupidity.
Either way though, the whole thing is getting increasingly bizarre and surreal, imo. Seeing blatant gaslighting like that, and then seeing people defend it or turn a blind eye to it is also bizarre.
It doesn't make logical sense for a poster to state that the the letters MS 13 were "OBVIOUSLY DIGITALLY SUPERIMPOSED AS AN INTERPRETATION AND ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD THINK OTHERWISE".... but then defend Trump for stating and leading people to believe the exact opposite. And THEN expecting everyone to trust anything he says on this matter after a blatant lie like that. (Unless it really is just stupidity.)
The only ones who are being consistent are the folks who claimed from the start that the letters MS 13 were actually part of the tattoo and not digitally superimposed as an interpretation of the symbols below. Whether I disagree with them on that or not is irrelevant... the point is that they're the only ones who don't have to twist themselves into a pretzel to defend what Trump said in this interview.
Its a lot like being in an abusive relationship.
I suspect the concept of “believing” something has lost all meaning to Trump. It’s like how the concept of “up” means nothing in outer space. Anything can be up, and you can change your mind anytime it’s convenient.
