Trump hit with criminal charges in New York, a first for a US ex-president -New York Times

Update

Ron DeSantis
@GovRonDeSantis

The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head. It is un-American. The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent. Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda.

Again, trump did all this to himself. No one else is to blame.

Nah..he's just trying to pick-off Trump voters. Unless Florida is prepared to attempt to fight off the US Marshall's..their cooperation is not required. I'd love to see Trump fort up at Mar Lago...you see..that's also a crime..and would be a very provable one.

Which is it? Dems think he won't win and so charged him or the Dems think he will win and so charged him?

Take your time. You guys can't have it both ways.

I'd like to give DA Bragg the benefit of the doubt and assume he sees Trump as someone who has used his wealth for years to evade the law and wants to be the one to make him face the law.

But okay, let's do a hypothetical and take the more cynical route and assume that this is politically motivated. If that's the case, I don't think it's about Soros or any of the shit we're reading on social media. If you want to say that this is an example of an aggressive/over-zealous local prosecutor trying to position himself for something bigger - New York AG or Governor - down the road, I could see that angle. Bragg wouldn't be the first DA/AG/US Atty to give into the temptation of trying to take down a big fish to make a name for himself.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. Bragg genuinely believes Trump is a white collar criminal, and he also sees this as an opportunity to boost his political career.

I don't agree. This is the first charge of more to come. All will be televised, and the nitty gritty details of his corruption will be seen by all. I'm looking forward to his many trials. Pass the popcorn!

Even if that is the case, which I would dispute, it would make running for President as a Republican pointless in 2024, and Haley should still drop out.

I am not exactly sure of the charges yet, but his attorney and CFO are already in jail, so yea, I am sure he is completely innocent.

Yes! Because Nancy, Barry,Joey and Chucky would never use their power to win elections any way possible.

Our laws are finally working in regards to trump. He usually gets around them.

You know nothing about Grand Jury's and how our legal system works.
Otherwise, you'd point out innocent until proven guilty that you and your salivating ilk always leave out!
Prosecutorial misconduct is yet another concept you ignore in your masturbatory zeal to find the Donald guilty.

Trump is getting ready to find out what not being in control of the situation feels like. He's now at the mercy of what other people decide. He's now just another common criminal, with a mugshot, and jailhouse file. He will now do what he's told to do, and when to do it.

How does the feel cultist?

Freaking finally.
I agree. How he's gotten away with most of his crimes for over 40 years is beyond belief. You'll never hear about the 38 times he has been found guilty ( and didn't buy himself out of it ). No decent person has over 3,500 lawsuits against them.

We'll see what happens is Trump takes Braggs face in both hands and kisses him on the mouth.

I didn't say he was guilty, I was saying I'm glad he's finally being charged for his actions. The courts will decide his fate.

Shit, you know how many millions are gonna pour into his pocket now from brain-dead conservatives who donate their hard-earned dollars to a billionaire?
We can't be all that brain-dead if we have all those dollars we can easily spare. Hey, maybe a lot of us are smarter and richer than you are.
