Grandma told me "Ignorance is bliss." Portraying Cleopatra as Black (or even native Egyptian, for that matter) is like portraying George Washington as indigenous North American. I mean, he was a great leader in North America, after all. So, obviously, he had to be indigenous, right?

There is nothing I despise more than history that's been altered to favor the current politically correct trend.
It's like a movie about vikings being criticized for not having blacks in it.
(That actually happened).

For those who are going to join in at some point, When Alexander the Great died, one of his Macedonian (Greek) generals, Diadochi, took over Egypt and declared himself, Pharoah Ptolemy I, Soter. The Macedonians considered the Syrians, Egyptians and others in that region to be inferior, so when they took a wife, they brought one in from Macedonia to rule by the Pharoah's side. This went on throughout the various Ptolemy's reign. Cleopatra was technically Macedonian by blood, although she was the first in the line to actually speak and read in Egyptian.
So, Caucasian she was. The old actual Egyptian line of rulers ended with the Macedonian conquering and take over of Egypt.

They were famous for marrying sisters to brothers, first cousins marrying very common.
Obsessed with keeping the bloodlines pure

Cleopatra was a descendant of the Ptolemaic dynasty, a Greek ruling family established by Ptolemy I Soter, one of Alexander the Great’s generals.

Ptolemy took control of Egypt after Alexander’s death in 323 BCE, and his descendants ruled the kingdom for nearly 300 years.
The Ptolemies were of Macedonian Greek origin and followed a strict tradition of marrying within their own family to maintain their lineage.
In fact, Cleopatra’s ancestors engaged in sibling marriages, a common practice among the Ptolemies to preserve their Greek heritage.
Unlike many of her predecessors, Cleopatra was unique in that she embraced Egyptian culture, including religious traditions and language.
According to The Cambridge Ancient History (Vol. IX, 1994), she was the first Ptolemaic ruler to actually learn the Egyptian language, a decision that helped her solidify her position with the native population.

However, her genetic background remained Greek.
