Ford fact checks Trump: We will be here forever

Ford has a message to Donald Trump: We're not going anywhere.

The automaker quickly shot down Donald Trump's latest hyperbolic claim, made on Fox News Thursday, that Ford plans to "fire all its employees in the United States" as part of a plan to build a plant in Mexico.

Ford said there will be zero job losses in the U.S. as a result of the new plant in Mexico. The Wayne, Michigan, plant that now builds the Focus and C-Max that will move to Mexico will instead start building other models -- probably the new Ford Bronco SUV and Ranger small pickup.

"Ford has been in the United States for more than 100 years. Our home is here. We will be here forever," said spokeswoman Christine Baker.

Pointy. Trump is doing what he does best and that is to bring out what the issues are. The issues here is creating jobs in the US. Part of it is not losing jobs and he has forced Ford to state zero job losses. But it also points out that Trump stays on top of things and calls a spade a spade. This is happening under Obumba's watch and as usual, he's not doing anything. What about Clinton? Trying to stay awake and stay out of jail.

I agree that small cars that are green are good for the air, and should be built here. However, Ford probably will build Broncos and Rangers small pickup which aren't small cars. If they built the plant here, the US workers here would have a chance to show Ford top management that a company can be more profitable. It isn't just about cutting manufacturing and labor costs, but ingenuity,quality and working together as a team and US manufacturing companies have shown that. US-based companies should invest in the US again and bring back some of that manufacturing that has been sent offshore and to Mexico.
