Trump ends Cultural tours to Cuba

Conservatives have to let it go

I have been predicting this on this board for two years. The wall is just the first step. First, to keep them out. Then to keep us in:

Trump administration bans cruises from traveling to Cuba — leaving passengers high and dry

High and dry implies leaving people stranded on the land, here they will have to modify the cruise itinerary to either make it a "sea" day, or find another visitation port.

If all you have is hyperbole (keep us in, one country, that we have had travel bans to before) and misused words, this ain't much of a post.

If you still consider yourself a free man, living in a free country which government forbids you to travel where you want to go, then you certainly don't get the point.

One place, that stole american assets decades ago.

You can always go to Cuba, the issue is would they let you back in. If you truly need to go to Cuba, you can stay there. hell you can go to Europe first, then go there, and then come back without much of a need for hard work or deception.

No problem, Marty. You call yourself a free man, yet you tolerate your government deciding where you can go. As for me, I don't call that freedom. In fact, I don't even want my government to have that much power over me.

There ain't much culture in Cuba

I never saw the appeal of visiting that rock when there are so many more interesting places to see.
More than most of the Caribbean

Have you been to most of the Caribbean?

Seriously if you want the best of what Cuba has to offer all you have to do is go to little Havana. Then you get to see what free Cuban people are capable of and it's fantastic

It is a communist country ninety miles off our coast.

The outrage of a communist country in our shadows should have ended decades ago.

Our biggest trading partner is Communist China and we can’t even visit Cuba

Time to end the childish tantrum. The rest of the world already has

Donald Trump’s company violated the U.S. embargo against Cuba

"A company controlled by Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, secretly conducted business in Communist Cuba during Fidel Castro's presidency despite strict American trade bans that made such undertakings illegal, according to interviews with former Trump executives, internal company records and court filings."

Trump attempted to cover up this particular crime by funneling payments through an American consulting firm and then falsely attempting to link the cash to a charitable group.

Hell, we lost over 50,000 Americans in a war with Vietnam, and now they have "Favored nation trading status". The whole thing with Cuba is just politics, with no basis in reality at all. I don't want to go to Cuba. But I firmly believe that my government should not have the power to limit where I go.

Did Vietnam or China pay?

The US had extensive holdings in Vietnam

Americans have been going to Cuba all along you just can't fly there direct from the US all you have to do is fly in from a different country

My daughter went on one 3 weeks ago, it is probably a good thing.
They had a terrible time, felt horrible for all of the kids that follow them around begging for money. Infrastructure isn't even remotely ready for tourism. Tour guides tell sad stories about the dual currency they have (I didn't know this) and no matter how hard you work you can't break out of the slums etc.

If walking around in scenes like this...add people following you around trying to get money from you, people running up to you trying to sell stuff to you.... then you would love it.

Mexico is similar...They just don't sell their sisters like they used to.

I went to Grand Bahama in 2006 with the family. I couldn't stay in the resort we made accommodations in because they had mold and I went into anaphylactic reaction. So we went to a best western. The room didn't have mold but the AC unit did so we had to keep it off for the night. We finally found a place in Port Lucaya that was clean.

The whole time people were coming up to me trying to sell me things or braid my hair.

The island had been ravaged by hurricanes and was in bad shape. The only nice area we found was Port Lucaya.

Needless to say I've never returned.

I've been to Mexico too. It's very similar. I just couldn't take the federalies with the machine guns pacing the sidewalk and outside the resort.

That's their problem. it can be done and thousands of people do it every year

Trump, being a retard, plans to continue the policy that has kept Cuba communist for 70 years, and allowed Castro to die old, rich, and beloved
I actually believed that a free Cuba would be a rich nation when opened up a bit. As I watch the corruption of most of the other islands in the Caribbean I believe Cuba is better staying a pariah to communism. We have given Puerto rico hundreds of billions of dollars over the years and it has become a socialistic corrupted island that has used its sugar daddy to maximum parasite advantage. The sad thing there are other island that would have begged for what Puerto Rico has been given.
Puerto Rico has a higher GDP than 14 states. They also pay taxes on goods despite receiving almost nothing from the U.S. Even when obliterated by a historic storm, the President attacks them and battles against funding the rescue of American citizens living there.

Their infrastructure had fallen apart before the storm ever despite recieving 21BILLION Annually.... so dont know where you get the DESPITE RECEIVING NOTHING FROM THE US part. Puerto Rico has corrupt political hack politicians thats why they suffer. They wanted us to fix all their pre existing problems and Trump said no. They are already getting money.
