Sometimes the best way to dig up somebody's past is to put them up for a nomination. At this point Hegseth should just stand down. It's not just the rape accusation which is probably bullshit there are too many other things in his immediate orbit including a legacy of drunkenness that doesn't bode well for him. I think Desantis will do a very good job and I'm sure Trump can find another spot for Hegseth.

Well, maybe but I'm not that crazy on giving up so easily, especially after Gaetz folded like a deck of cards. If Hegseth's nomination fails in the senate at least we still have DeSantis as a fallback, meanwhile, I'm mindful of the fact that DeSantis was also highly critical of Trump at one time.
