Whether by the US, Israel, or the Iranian people themselves, Iran's government will collapse.

They are about to commit the single most self-destructive mistake of their history by attacking any US installation. For right now, OSINT channels are telling me that Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar seems to be the target. That could change as the day wears on.

It has killed thousands of Americans and Israelis over that span. The US has shown enormous restraint over that time period, but now the US has elected a president who has come to collect on the debt owed by the Iranians. To boot, the president who got elected might have been the target of Iranian assassination attempts.

This IS going to escalate into a full-blown war. Trump is warning Iran not to retaliate. He gave them a number of avenues to de-escalate before the strikes. The Ayatollah has gone into hiding and can't be reached by his inner circle. In essence, he sees the writing on the wall. Think of Hitler as the Russians were closing in on Berlin.

Long story short, Iran is operating on fear. They aren't going to survive this. It has invoked the wrath of two nuclear powers, and the nuclear powers that ally with it are reticent to help it. It has already angered China by choosing to close the Strait of Hormuz. It's essentially lashing out like a cornered animal.

The primary threat is to Al-Udeid airbase right now. The other bases could come under attack by drone swarms/cruise missiles/ballistic missiles, or Iranian proxy militias.

You’re sowing fear of a danger that’s remote. There was no pressing reason to bomb Iran. Short of a desire to settle old scores, I don’t see much diplomatic upside for an administration that refuses to help Ukraine.
