trump bailing out Argentine beef ranchers.

I live in Kansas, my father raises cattle as do his neighbors. In Pop's case the very grass and grain fed all organic beef you were referring as going to international markets.

But you can see cows on some hills so you're an expert.

Get lost, kid.
What org certifies the organic nature of the beef?

I doubt the farmers vote fer the MAGATs again.
They will not stop pursuing deregulation and tax breaks like any of the other good capitalists.

American cattle ranchers are making big bucks selling to Japan and other nations they couldn't sell to before...
Argentina is inching towards being our major trade partner with Agriculture... this is a wise move...
But I wouldn't expect Crepitus to understand it...
So....now you are for importing things we could make here....?

Instead of American ones that are suffering from his ill advised trade war.

Promising to import Argentine beef to undercut the American farmers prices and profits.

Make Argentina Great Again!!

And when asked about it he scolds the reporter instead of answering.

Like all news stories that hit the wire and are broadcast, you can predict the response.

If Trump does it, they accept it and love it. The song has been sung so long that it’s hardly surprising any more.

What always gets me is that no matter what the topic is, every right wing loon here instantly promotes themselves as experts on the topic. Covid, the constitution, and now the worldwide beef market.

Fundamental to the whole tariff and trade bruhahha is to make more stuff here-- we’re told “You can avoid the tariffs by buying American.”. Suddenly the blob says he wants to import beef from another nation...and these dumbfucks are applauding it.

What ever happened to employing more Americans?

I looked at the situation through the media I prefer, trade publications.

United States Cattlemen's Association
“Already this year, the U.S. has imported more than 1.26 million metric tons of beef, primarily from Australia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and New Zealand. Increasing imports under current rules ultimately benefits foreign suppliers and multinational packers, while putting U.S. ranchers on the losing end and depriving American consumers of honest transparency at the meat counter.

“USCA supports affordable food prices for American families. But we do oppose policies or loopholes that manipulate the market to address a solution that will be solved through natural market behavior. This approach weakens our industry’s foundation and undermines rural America.

“We have appreciated President Trump’s ‘America First’ priorities, which have consistently highlighted the importance of supporting U.S. producers and reinforcing national food security. This moment presents an excellent opportunity to show genuine American-first leadership by prioritizing strong domestic production, and fair, transparent markets for both ranchers and consumers.”

National Cattlemen's Beef Association
“NCBA’s family farmers and ranchers have numerous concerns with importing more Argentinian beef to lower prices for consumers. This plan only creates chaos at a critical time of the year for American cattle producers, while doing nothing to lower grocery store prices,” said NCBA CEO Colin Woodall. “Additionally, Argentina has a deeply unbalanced trade relationship with the U.S. In the past five years Argentina has sold more than $801 million of beef into the U.S. market. By comparison, the U.S. has sold just over $7 million worth of American beef to Argentina. Argentina also has a history of foot-and-mouth disease, which if brought to the United States, could decimate our domestic livestock production.”

Pity they have no plan to deal with the drought. Funny that.

Hold their hands out?

As long as the paper trail covers his arse, all good.
He does due diligence but that does assume the sellers are being truthful.

Those nitrates gotta come from somewhere.

The blob is talking about buying more beef from Argentina; not selling them more dick breath.

I thought leftys hated the idea of ANY farmer getting a subsidy. You should be saying that NO farmers, including American farmers, should be getting anything. Right?

15th post
Biden and Obama gave our beef industry to mexico which makes sense cause democrats represent mexico

Beef imports from Mexico have accounted for 18.9 percent of total U.S. beef imports and, 2021, Mexico was the second largest source of U.S. beef imports,
Mexico is a trading partner just across the border.
Argentina is not and is over 5300 miles away.

How does that make sense?
Only in Trumplandia.
