Do Americans know that during WWII, America sold weapons and vehicles to the English army. It was on loan and the British didn't fully repay for these military items until I think 2022 or something insane like that.

You don't just grant nations weapons, you sell them. That's the way it works and has always worked, especially when a nation has $37T in debt, primarily due to their military build up that ensured a deterrent to communist/authoritarian nations.

The plan works as follows: the weapons will go through NATO and NATO will ship the weapons to the Ukraine. NATO will pay for the weapons.

It is a win for the Ukraine and a win for the US.

Sending weapons to help the Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression is a thousand times more preferable than the US having to send its own troops if Russia attacks a NATO ally.

I seldom praise Trump, but I will on this deal.

It isn’t any different than what Biden did. Trump fought it, and bullied the GOP Congress into bottling up aid for months.

And Trump stopped military aid to Ukraine this year.

I am glad that he appears to be reversing himself.

Well, no argument there. Trump said he could end the war in 24 hours, but that was based on him having been in office when it started. Now it is three years later and both sides are in too deep to stop fighting.

But yeah, by arming the Ukes with Pats, he has essentially vindicated everything Biden did. More than that, he has only extended the war.

Ukraine can shoot Patriots all day until the cows come home; it may protect Ukraine, but it is no real skin off Putin's nose. I think Putin is long passed reason; the patriots may slow his war efforts and the sanctions might hurt a bit but at this point, I don't think Putin cares--- he is now attacking Ukraine on sheer principle alone.

C'mon, CB, how is Zelensky going to pay billions for weapons? With our own money that Joe Biden gave him? If Zelensky had money for weapons, he wouldn't need to borrow money from us.

If Zelensky ever repays us at all, it will likely be through trade deals to give us minerals and agriculture. We will be trading human lives for lithium to make car batteries out of.
