The “trial” was in NY State Supreme Court. The first appeal decisions (today) was in the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department. The next step will be in the State’s highest Court, the New York State Court of Appeals.

Not true. The “damages” component (here a kind of a fine) was imposed. On the appeal it was effectively set aside. The gubmint can — and is likely to — urge that the Appellate Division got it wrong “as a matter of law” and have it reinstated by the Court of Appeals.

They can do so so because this was a civil case. Double Jeopardy applies to criminal cases.

The fake civil fraud lawsuit cooked up by Letitia James has failed. Judge Engoron and AG James should both be removed from their positions for total abuse of power. The Court of Appeals has swatted down this absurd judgement. The case should never have seen the light of day. You can't have a fraud case when there IS NO VICTIM of the alleged fraud. DUH!
