Trump Again Claims Tariffs Will Result in Large Income Tax Cuts

Which has what to do with a Tariff?
If a Tariffs is a regressive tax, so is a business or corporate tax.

Why do you favor one and oppose the other?

I favor tariffs because it levels the labor playing field. American companies are at a competitive disadvantage because of the safeguards I outlined above.

I don't want to reduce the safeguards which leaves only one alternative.

You misperceive. One can negotiate treaties more carefully than the sledgehammer approach which doesn't appear to be working.
How do you negotiate a better trade treaty when those you negotiate with don't give a single fuck about safety or workers rights?

Are we going to pay for an enforcement mechanism to monitor the workplace safety and fair wage policy in every country we trade with?

No.

We are going to levy tariffs and allow a process for these countries to prove they are paying a fair wage to their employees, and we are going to ensure the fair wages of American blue collar employees are protected as well.

I admit, Trump is not quite right on that and I don't think most people are understanding Trump on this. Tariffs themselves won't really generate much tax income because they are all mostly bluffs to get trade deals and then eliminate those tariffs. But, the result of tariffs and trade deals is to bring more business to the US and that increased business will generate a bunch of tax income all though the economy. The ultimate goal is actually to have as few tariffs as possible, including tariffs from other countries on us.
So he's imposing tariffs to get as few tariffs as possible.

How is that working out so far?

Government jobs hurts the economy. No new money. Why else did creepy print trillions? You know fking nothing
Yeah, before the government got there, Oak Ridge Tennessee was the Manhattan of the Smoky Mountains. Today...it's a veritable wasteland....

You've said some moronic shit before but this one takes the cake.

PS: Every small town that has a major military base near it would dry up and blow away if the base were to close.

The math doesn’t come close to working out even with the rosiest of projections and we aren’t cutting 3-4 trillion in spending a year. Even if it did, wouldn’t the tariff income greatly decrease if it led to onshoring which is the stated goal?

Are you trying to imply tRump can do math?

'Cause I have serious doubts.

1. He said it will "take time", so projections are crude estimates
2. The tariffs are still being negotiated, so there is no basis for accurate "projections"
3. We don't need to cut $3T to $4T, we had a $2T deficit in 2024, the 2025 Budget is not approved yet
4. Onshoring will take time, no clue how much tariffs will be affected because no clue how much will be onshored, probably cars, chips, and automated production, not manually manufactured products like clothing and small things.
"projections" are outright fantasy.

funny, they can't tell us what xiden did in four years other than allow an invasion of our country.
No, that's just you, you idiot. The rest of us can tell you all about what Joe Biden did for the country.

Again…why didn’t that happen in the first term if tariffs work?

Because of Congress and idiots like you gumming up the works you black tounged ape. Get off the boards dummy.

We had steady real growth (not govt spending) going great 2019 then you criminal busterds launched your virus game to rig the vote. Stupid OX, you should know all this.

Biden left most of the tariffs in place according to your fellow MAGA cock suckers.

Not even remotely true. Your blob ran up:

EIGHT TRILLION IN NEW DEBT.

That fact undercuts the lib belief that tariffs are bed
Trump had reduced most of the tariffs because of the pandemic. Biden left them in place because our economy was shut down due to the rampant mis-management of the blob and the misuse of what his boy called "our stockpile".

Few if any jobs were onshored during the blob's first term. Few, if any jobs are going to be onshored during this latest tantrum/term. The only thing that is happening is our stock market is crashing due to the uncertainty, consumer confidence is plummeting, and the blob's approval ratings are in the toilet.

Taxes can be avoided by the Company-let us witness his Orangeness.
Having said that I am fine with no corporate taxes as long as personal corporations are ended.

This is a strawman and has nothing to do with the efficacy of the tariffs.

I am 100% behind Trump. He is doing something that was long overdue.

What money does a government employee get paid from?

I agree that we may not add many new factory jobs over the next 4 years

America has been bleeding manufacturing jobs to china since Clinton was president

Thats 30 rears of bsd trade policy which cannot be undone in just 4 years

But we should begin the process, which will at least mean more jobs rather than less whrn trump hands off to the next president

Plus we can and will end our dependence on china and diversify our imports to more friendly countries such as Thailand and India for instance
