This just seems like an ideological nonsense. Performative cruelty. You have already paid for these treatments anyway.
I cant help feel there is some evangelical nutjob behind this.

Why not just sell them to the countries they were made for ? It makes no sense.

It is, however, rather consistent with someone like Trump, who is only concerned with one person in this world.

There’s no public evidence that evangelicals called for the destruction of these contraceptives. The decision came from Trump-appointed officials at USAID aligned with his broader ideological agenda — not from church leaders.

And it wasn’t about shelf life. Most of the stock didn’t expire until 2027, and over 70% of its usability remained. There was time to donate or reroute it — if anyone had wanted to. But no one created that legal path. So instead, they paid to destroy $10 million worth of usable medical supplies.

This wasn’t driven by logistics. It was driven by politics — specifically, an ideological push to erase U.S. support for global contraception programs, even if it meant burning taxpayer dollars to do it.

Read the article.

Why was the American Taxpayer billed for this crap?

Who supported billing the American Taxpayer for this crap?
I can join the dots for you but it would be a waste of my time.

It was part of USAID’s Global Health Programs funding—backed by bipartisan appropriations through Congress for over two decades. The aim was reducing maternal deaths and preventing disease in developing countries. You don’t have to like it, but it wasn’t snuck in under cover of night—it was debated, passed, and renewed by elected representatives. If you want to name a villain, start with the budget bills from 2001 to 2020.

I think the idea is to jump on a crazy bandwagon instead of pay attention to what was happening. They are destroying food that is close to expiration date. But I guess some would be happier if some received the food and died from food born illness. They are destroying contraceptives that are almost passed their date but some would be happier if those contraceptives were handed out then a woman got pregnant because she was under the impression that they would be effective. Then of course they could die during an abortion or the child could die from malnutrition.
Yes of course such great ideas.

So we are destroying food and contraceptives so impoverished foreigners dont get it? This is how America gets great again I guess.

Just say NO.

Why some people are against contraception is hard to fathom. Its not immoral.

That's your way of saying that you don't care about those people THAT much. Why would you need to wait for someone else to do something before you reach in your wallet?
