I am Gen X. I admit it's a shame it only cost me $5000 a year back then but kids today have to pay so much.

We complained about rising income inequality to Bush, he gave tax breaks to the rich. Gap widened. Only thing Obama could do with Republican sabotures was Obamacare. Look how many poor people he helped. And many of them voted for Trump. Now their subsidies are going bye bye. We are all paying more for healthcare this year.

Trump's a boomer right? They have sold us out to the corporations. Citizens United. And we all agree the Senate is way too old. Time to go old timers. But they won't go. So ******* greedy. Boomers!

This is mainly for three reasons:
1) They're young and stupid

Can't argue with ignoring standards and norms, but rules and laws? I dunno, the Trump Administration doesn't actually break laws and do illegal stuff, although they circumvent it at times or stretch the boundaries somewhat. It's not like he is the 1st president to do so, past presidents have done that through our history IMHO. Look at Biden and his broadbrush forgiveness for student loans, or Obama's DACA Executive Order that he told us many times he couldn't do and then subsequently did it. Presidents have exceeded their authority going all the way back to Jefferson's Louisiana Purchase in 1803.

I'm not sure that he hasn't kinda stretched the boundaries somewhat on his authority or any rules and laws. That's why we have a Supreme Court to reign him and every other president in. Opinions differ I guess, on the illegalities but I hafta say I think he's setting the precedent for future presidents to be a little too arbitrary and unilateral. But OTOH, compromise and cooperation are in short supply these days and not much gets done unless he does it himself.

Americans of all generations have failed in their responsibilities to stay informed and to participate in their own governance. By the latter I mean voting. We, the people, have the power to get rid of money in politics, amend the Constitution, elect representatives who will put our interests before those of the rich and powerful. To the extent the status quo continues it is 100% our fault.
