Trump Admin will be setting fire to enough food to feed 1.5 million children for a week

Wtf?

What are you even talking about? Where do you get these contrivances from?
So that would be a "no" then.

One of the reasons for these programs is to buy surplus stuff to support the prices so the farmers make more money.

You tRumplings just don't know anything that they don't tell you, do you.

Here's some reading:

If you don't like the source do some googling and educate yourself.

No, you did not.

Becuase of DOGE and their destruction of the agencies meant to distribute it.

DERP!!

Here.........can't forget this juicy little tidbit from USA Today

The State Department, which now oversees whats left of USAID, said the cuts aren't what caused the food to expire.

So suck it up, DERPS and talk to the hand :eusa_hand:

or better yet....:fu:

A blog? How insightful.

Now, how about some empirical evidence, not citations from activists?

Beggars can’t be choosers.

I agree. Most food is perfectly good beyond any dates......with the exception of milk. Things like yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, butter and cheeses, if properly stored in a fridge are fine for awhile beyond dates because of how they are made, fermentation, the lactic acids, whey, etc

BUT food banks and aid distributers and most people either don't know that or refuse to deal with it

Those biscuits were fine, the expiration date being passed did not make them unsafe for consumption.

Democrats have nothing to do with this decision.

They don't but they will use giving "expired food" with the intent to sicken or kill children as article of impeachment.

Bureaucrats always play it super safe. The most important thing is to cover their rear and secure their career.

That may be true, but food banks and food aid distributions won't give them out

Nearly 500 metric tones worth nearly a billion dollars. Enough to feed 1.5 million children for a week, I'm told, being destroyed because the trump administration didn't like a few USAID programs.

This is what trump has brought us to. we're throwing food away rather than feeding starving children.

But the trump supporters will not care. They will in fact deflect or defend this, if they don't outright cheer it because those kids are most likely brown and not white.

OMG!

Read the fuggin' link dickwad;

"The State Department, which now oversees whats left of USAID, said the cuts aren't what caused the food to expire."

"The State Department did not comment specifically on the expiring biscuits in Dubai when asked by USA TODAY, but told Reuters they were purchased under the Biden administration "as a contingency beyond projections," resulting in their expiration. A spokesperson said that the policy is not to distribute food that is nearing its shelf life, and that standard protocol is to destroy it." :omg::rolleyes:

"More than 600 metric tons of the biscuits, which are high in calories and vitamins to help people survive emergencies, were recently approved to go to Syria, Bangladesh and Myanmar, according to Reuters."
...

1) We have a smarmy Left wingnut "journalist" blowing something out of proportion and "mis-stating" details.

2) I worked in the food industry for several years and "expire dates" are set way earlier than actual to avoid any stale or off-taste that will occur. Also to avoid getting too close to any real decay in quality or safety, which with processed "foods" is hard to do, they being a bit artificial anyway.

3) This food could still go out and likely be safe for consumption. Also, others, like NGOs that "care for the poor third worlders" could step up and help with moving and distributing to the intended recipients.

nearly 500 metric tons of high-energy biscuits used to fight hunger in emergencies are going to expire in July while in a warehouse in Dubai

this happens in every food warehouse in America too

If you liberals hadn't turned USAid into your private slush fund then those starving children would be getting their food. Actions have consequences. YOU did this and now there are going to be issues while Trump has to clean up yet ANOTHER mess created by Democrats!
