Yes it's a waste just because it's 'expired' (for whatever reason). Most foods are still perfectly good well beyond their dates, but food banks and probably any food aid distribution centers around the world will not give it out and would be tossed anyway.

Even still, what about our children? Why can't we feed them what food we don't consume? There are countries in Europe that mandate restaurants and supermarkets give unbought or unconsumed food so it can be fed to the needy. This isn't a hard concept.

The stuff was sitting in warehouses.......because it was purchased as contingency......most places that it would have been delivered to don't usually have alot of storage space and that's why the warehouses are used.
