A new CVSA rule allows DOT inspectors to place drivers out of service for not meeting federal English proficiency requirements during roadside checks.

A new rule is now being enforced for commercial truck drivers in the U.S. Starting June 25, 2025, drivers who do not meet the federal English proficiency requirement may be placed out of service during inspections.

So in Trump first run he did nothing

Now in 2025 they have a new rule that they must speak English

General qualifications of drivers,” states that a driver must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

Wow I wonder if this applies to car and motocycle drivers ?

I wonder if I drive in Mexico will they pull me over for not speaking spanish

All you need to know when driving is what the signs mean
which can be explained in Spanish or whatever language

Get pulled over will maybe the officer speakes spanish and if not just give them the ticket and check their ID etc.

Now that the flashing red light means pull over

When the police office writes the ticket then they just give it to him

If they did something really bad, then they will be arrested.

That's pretty decent, it's more than most people make.

We have a lot of young people in this country that don’t want to work for a living.

Yes, we do.

Probably because they watched their parents slave away their whole lives, and have less than their grandparents did.

This isn't unique to America, it's something even China is encountering. They have a movement called "Lying Flat" (Tang Ping 躺平 ) where young people don't move out of their parents' homes, don't get married, and don't get anything but menial jobs.

Nope, not at all. Most kids don't get out of college until they are 22, and given how few entry-level jobs there are, it's usually hard to establish yourself.

26 year olds aren't really the problem with health care. They are generally healthy and don't go to the doctor that often. Most of the expenses in health care are people in their 50's and 60's before Medicare kicks in.

My wife has a driver's license. She barely speaks English, but somehow, she was able to get a DL.
