Trump Admin Saves Jobs, Kicks 1500 Non-English-Speaking Truckers Off the Road

I was referring to English comprehension level.

If you're going to require truckers speak English, you have to also specify at what grade level of understanding they have to have.

How well you speak English is a qualifiable measure. So there has to be a minimum standard. Which is what I was asking for.

It's in the regs mean Gene.
Rather VAGUE.

Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records;

49 CFR § 391.11(b)(2).

Yes the General public, not too hard

You don’t have to discuss engineering with a LSU professor nor bank robbing with a southie…but you might need to ask someone how to get to 8th street, or fill out your trucking logs properly so a state trooper can read them
