You have no idea what you're talking about. Truckers today have the upper hand. When I was working, I could piss on my bosses desk, and after he fired me, I'd have a job the next day. Companies across this country are desperate for drivers, and would welcome any Canadian driver to join our transportation industry, and they'd probably make better money.

Canadian drivers are trained and experienced unlike the garbage coming from places like the middle-east and Russia. Those people have zero training or experience, but our industry is hiring them anyway they are so desperate because our government just handed them a CDL.

Now that moron Trudeau is threatening to take away their CDL's in Canada. Brilliant! Who are you going to get to replace those truckers?

The problem is tyrants refuse to give up their tyranny, so let everybody suffer.

2.) You are completely ignorant...driving is both physically and mentally exhausting especially if your loading and unloading also
3.) Most people don't even want the job.
4.) Ray never did piss on his bosse's desk idiot....but if he did it wouldn't have stopped him from getting his next driving gig because qualified drivers are very hard to find.
5.) Annual physical has to be good....can't even have high blood pressure or you don't get recertified.
6.) You couldn't be any more wrong than you are.

So we’re finally seeing a genuine, bottom-up, working-class revolution. In Canada, and increasingly in the United States, truckers and others are refusing to follow government orders, telling the powerful that, in a popular lefty formulation, if there’s no justice, there’s no peace.
Naturally, the left hates it.
For more than a century, lefties have talked about such a revolt. But if you really paid attention, the actual role of the working class in their working-class revolution was not to call the shots — it was to do what it was told by the “intellectual vanguard” of the left.
A working-class revolution led by the working class is the left’s worst nightmare because the working class doesn’t want what the left wants. The working class wants jobs, a stable economy, safe streets, low inflation, schools that teach things and a conservative, non-adventurous foreign policy that won’t get a lot of working-class people killed. It’s not excited about gender fluidity, critical race theory, “modern monetary theory,” foreign adventures and defunding police.

Truckers have figured that out. Right now Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden are worrying about truckers coming out. They should really worry about truckers staying home.

What you and your leftist ilk don't understand is when people have had enough, they've have had enough. This is what the Canadian government is learning now. There is only so far you can push people.

I can't speak for what truckers have to put up with in Canada, but apparently enough to make this vaccine nonsense the last straw. I can speak about what's going on in this country, and because of bureaucratic tyranny, they make it harder and harder for drivers to make a living. In fact we are short 11,000 drivers in this country right now, and that number will continue to grow as we baby boomers head for retirement.

So what's in store this year for drivers? Starting this month, if you want to drive a truck, you must now attend government classes in spite of the training you paid for or learned from your employer. Even if you already drive and want to upgrade from a straight truck to tractor-trailer, you have to take this idiotic class.

There are plans for a US trucker strike. When we bring our trucks to a halt, we bring the country to a halt and I hope it happens next month as planned. I want to see what people do when there are no places to buy things. No food, empty Walmart stores, no place to buy a new car. Maybe then people will support this fight against authoritarian government.

When Trump or Desantis becomes President, they need to use the power of the Federal Government to regulate interstate trade to end trucker restrictions in blue states, especially California...if a trucker transports goods across state lines, President Trump or Desantis needs to free them from all stupid, democrat party state mandates.........if they want to destroy trucking within their state, good for the assholes who voted for democrats...but they shouldn't be allowed to inhibit truckers in general.

Also, there's quite a bit of messing around with the truck before one can get in and drive. I used to have the damnedest time sliding my tandems, because the latches tended to be kind of dirty and gunked-up (sometimes even rusted) and required a lot of upper-body strength to move. Not having upper-body strength, I'd have to basically throw my entire body weight into the movement. Exhausting.

Only a damned fool who WANTS to get stuck on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere with a dead truck just hops in and goes without inspecting it and making sure it will keep running, so a certain basic mechanical ability with compression engines is also necessary.

It is my understanding that most trucking companies refuse to let their drivers do any lumper work now, because of DOT regulations on how long a driver can work before he must take an 8-hour break. They don't want any more of that work time used up in lumping than they can avoid. Nevertheless, the driver is still ultimately responsible for that cargo and how it's loaded into his truck. Also, if one is a flatbed driver, then the tie-down is ALL yours.

Even though trucks have power-steering now, it's still not like driving a Subaru around. Those bad boys can take a toll on you after 11 hours.

Don't even get me started on stuff like putting on snow chains if the weather turns bad.

So yeah, truck driving is working-class, because it's definitely manual labor.
