We keep pushing the string hoping that by making money cheap, people will go into debt to buy.

Sadly, consumers will be niggardly buyers as long as they're worried about their jobs and the future economy.

Much like Capital won't invest unless it sees demand increase.

A vicious economic cycle that , in theory, stimulus spending ought to solve.
