The thing is, Title IX required colleges to give out scholarships for sports that don't generate any cash (unlike men's sports, which are a cash cow for many universities)

Again, there are a whopping 10 trans athletes out of 500K in the NCAA. if that is going to "ruin" it, then maybe it wasn't such a big deal.

1) Encourage her to get a scholarship through academics.
2) Encourage her to engage in a sport that had less chance of accidental injury
3) But if she absolutely was in this sport, she should expect this kind of thing.

I had a nephew who was a champion wrestler in College. His Senior year, he suffered a pretty severe injury and couldn't compete. The Alumni and students were so upset with him that the college had to assign him a bodyguard as he hobbled between classes. (He eventually finished his degree at another university, then went on to get his Master's.)

Of course, I paid for college by joining the Army, so I can't get worked up by, "OMG I saw a penis!"
