Every college will now be recruiting mediocre male athletes, especially for team sports. This will end up displacing women athletes who worked hard all their lives only to lose their scholarship to a man. I’ve had a similar issue with a previous double standard. Girls are allowed to try out for boys teams if that sport is not offered for girls, e.g., baseball. Boys then should be allowed to try out for the girls softball team.

Is there a boys equivalent available?

Baseball for boys, softball for girls. But girls are allowed to try out for baseball. That means boys should be able to go out for girls softball. Not allowed. Double standard.

Finally! A poll on transgender athletes competing as women

The Democrats are all in on a losing hand.

In a poll released Tuesday, Rasmussen reveals that "just 28% of American Adults favor allowing transgender students to participate on the sports team of the gender they identify with, letting biological males, for example, play girls' sports." Roughly the same number, 31 percent, favor allowing transgender students to use bathrooms of the opposite biological sex.

This is a policy that Republicans are in the mainstream, while Democrats are not. "Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans and 52% of those not affiliated with either major political party oppose allowing transgender students on the teams of the gender they identify with," according to Rasmussen. "Democrats support such a policy by a 43% to 36% margin, with 21% undecided. There's a similar partisan breakdown when it comes to bathroom policy."

We of course have compassion for people experiencing strong feelings that they are the opposite sex.If someone wants to live and act as the opposite sex, that's fine. Such people deserve our sympathy for their psychological travails. But that freedom to live as the opposite sex ends at the bathroom/shower door and the athletic field. Girls and women have a right to privacy and safety and athletic competitions that they can win? They deserve compassion, too, and they are far more numerous than people who want to be transgender.

There is a world class athlete that has blended male/female genetics, I believe she is XXy and has lived as a woman. She has natural testosterone levels much higher than an XX woman though quite a bit lower than an XY man. There have always been a minority XYY men, in fact they are over represented in our prison populations and professional spots. They compete as men, and tend to dominate. Similarly this woman lives and competes as a woman. I don't have a problem with that.
