Top Right Wing Radio Hosts Threatened With Termination If They Don’t Stop Promoting Election Conspiracy Theories

It’s amazing how many people wrap themselves in a document they’ve clearly never read. This isn’t a free speech issue.

It is a free speech issue, but not a government censorship issue. It is an issue of people being de-platformed over politics by people that control access to the internet, which has become the new public square.
Businesses have every right to associate (or not) with whomever they please. We’ve had this conversation on numerous occasions over the years and I’ll never be convinced that people have a right to social media account or to be hosted on my servers.

The communists can take dissent off the airwaves but they can't really change opinion. The election was stolen. Biden not only admits it but brags about it.

Maybe Trump should have spent some time on the elections as opposed to calling people names?
Since he won the election calling names had no effect. Joe Biden brags about the fraud.

On Monday, The Washington Post reported that Cumulus Media, a broadcast owner that employs several of the country's most successful right-wing talk radio hosts, is ordering an end to conspiracy theories about the election being stolen — and threatening to end the contract of any host who continues with them.

"We need to help induce national calm NOW," wrote Brian Philips, the executive vice president of content for Cumulus, in an internal memo. He added that "will not tolerate any suggestion that the election has not ended. The election has been resolved and there are no alternate acceptable 'paths.'"

Jawohl mein Commandant!!

You have dimwitted Lefties using Amazon, a company that tries whichever accounting means to reduce their tax bill, and these Dimwits cry about Trump doing the same. Retards are a special breed.
And you only care about that now, not when Democrats were complaining about it during Trumps tax break to millionaires. THEN all you wingnuts were cheering Amazon on, saying they had smart accountants like Trump.

You are arguing the election was fraudulent. Maybe instead of calling people names, Trump should have worked towards addressing the election apparatus?

So power companies can shut off the power to Trump supporters and Trump? Phone cable and cell services can deny access to conservatives?

Internet access has been declared a "right" be some NGO's, and while I think that may be too far, things like hosts, and transmission services are more like utilities than anything else these days.

There is a difference between one baker not wanting to bake one specific cake, and said baker denying all products, or all bakers in an area denying the service. The same issues apply to this, and are far more crucial as you are talking about a person's access to express their opinion in an arena currently used to do just that.

These people still have access to the internet and I believe it should be classified as a utility in my opinion. Again, you don’t have a right to social media account. No one does.

All TV Media now speaks the Democratic Party Line. Conservative Talk Radio and social media platforms are being shutdown. How quickly we are being transformed. I wonder if Democrats will begin imprisoning people who speak out against them? That would be the next logical step in the progression.

That's why places like Parler and gab were created, and are now being suppressed. They said "create your own facebook" and now they are being told that their own facebook isn't welcome on backbone services like hosting.

And spare me hosting companies moral vapors attacks over all this, they host things like hamster midget duct tape fisting porn without saying boo.

If political thought and discussion are handled on social media platforms as a primary mean of discussion and dissemination of information, maybe they do have to be regulated as a commons.

They not only have pissed off the Democrats but the Republicans party members. Trump's Twitter putsch managed to unite the two parties like no other war could have.

You know, I really think the "coup" is just the excuse. The real reason R's are bailing on Trump is because he blew the GA runoffs. He's basically given everything to the Democrats. Apart from placating his throng of morons, Republicans have little reason left to suck up to Trump. I suspect the plan now is to carefully purge the party of the populists and move back to something sane.

I have all the faith in the world they’ll get their own servers up running and won’t have to do business with those entities anymore.

What if server companies refuse to sell to them? What if the broadband companies refuse to provide service?

This is opening up a big old rabbit hole.
