Zone1 Tomorrow is father's day

Is it irony that Juneteenth is the same day? With so many black children living in fatherless homes, is it a suggestion? Or just silly happenstance? What do you think?

If you knew how calendars work, and that designating a specific day, such as the 3rd Sunday in June for each year, the date will change from year to year due to the way the calendar is constructed. No, it's not a suggestion, it's just a happenstance. Same reason that other holidays shift their dates from year to year.

Father’s Day is celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and a number of other countries around the world.

Try another way to push your racism, this one didn't work. No, it's not a suggestion as you intimated.

It's banana flavored juicy irony in a stick of watermelon scented gum. You asked. Perhaps one day white people too will get to make up a holiday and pretend it's always been.

Read the link in post 3. Father's day WAS created by white people, and it is a fairly recent (early 1900's) holiday, that wasn't enacted into a national holiday until Nixon.

From the link in post 3..........................

In spite of widespread support, Father’s Day did not become a permanent national holiday for many years. The first bill was introduced in Congress in 1913, but in spite of encouragement by President Woodrow Wilson, it did not pass. In 1966, Lyndon Johnson issued a proclamation designating the third Sunday in June to honor fathers.

Finally, in 1972, President Richard Nixon signed a law declaring that Father’s Day be celebrated annually on the third Sunday in June. It has been an official, permanent national holiday ever since.
