Caltrans is studying whether high-speed buses traveling up to 140 mph could provide a faster, lower-cost alternative to driving and complement California’s high-speed rail system by connecting cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fresno and Bakersfield.

Evidently, high-speed rail was such a boondoggle, what the heck, do it with high-speed busses. Here I thought Fresno and Bakersfield were on the high-speed route and supposed to have stations. Hell, how about high-speed electric busses.

When one boondoggle isn't enough then double-down.
CA mixes trucks that are limited to 55 mph with auto traffic doing 70 mph on a four lane freeway and now they want to mix in buses doing 80-140 mph. LOL, this is a recipe for disaster. Add that to the fact that they can't even get the high speed rail end of it up and running and it just makes you shake your head.
