Told ya so: $20 minimum wage in California is about to put thousands of low-income people out of work

It's cost/benefit.

There is a tipping point where the cost of employees vs the cost of automation begins to favor automation.

That point has now been reached.

Or you hire more competent people to get your value for the labor you have to pay.

Sure. That way you can dismiss the plight of the underpaid with maximum smugness.
As opposed to throwing them on the dole, never to rise out of it thanks to no opportunity.

In other words the government are the new slave owners.

Try shooting for a life as something other than a burger flipper instead of imposing an artificially high $20 government dictated wage

10,000 employees fired thanks to People's Republic of California craziness.

Keep the exodus going, Lefties. That's the ticket.

Why not raise the minimum wage to $100 an hour and "eliminate poverty"??

California's extreme requirements that raise the cost of construction push the food service industry out of buildings into food trucks. Owner-operators without staff avoid all the issues of employee requirements. But now there are tightening and more expensive regulations on what they can drive. That may leave only vending machines.
