Allowing working legal immigrants into the country is not a problem. What is a problem is allowing illegals to come to the country work under the table and not contribute to SS. Also, many of them are getting benefits(yeah, it is happening) on top of not contributing.

If I invested the money I put into SS since the day I started working and earned 8% interest, I could retire at 65 and would not run out of money until aged 86 using the max. SS benefit. It's kind of stupid now isn't it? It isn't much of a benefit for those that contributed for their entire working career unless they live to a very ripe old age. They would have been much better off investing the money, but we can't have that because people who didn't pay in wouldn't get anything.
