No insult. Sorry. You are correct, but my point still stands. TSA has not been in existence that long. Only a few thousand people qualified the way you described.Working at TSA and having 30 years under FERS are two different things.
For example some my have transferred in from other fedreal agencies (such as FAA secuirity) or those with prior military service with honorable discharges who are non-retirees whose military service is creditable under FERS.
I'm sure your response will be a personal insult, so have at it.

I had 12.5 years government service when I applied for TSA back in 2012. They called and told me to report for training on the day I started a new teaching position that gave me over 23 years credit for my military service and teaching experience. For the first time in my career, I made $53K a year based on the 6 months I was there.
