The TSA did not pay very well when I applied. My daughter started out part-time and had to work her way up to a full-time position.

Maybe not all, but 'office' jobs, developer, auditor, etc... pay very well, and have much better benefits than private sector.

I know of someone that retired at 56 with full social security benefits plus pension, why you see so many 'younger' people retiring from a federal government position.
