Just finished watching episode two of the series, To Tell the Truth: The Strategy of Truth. It's an excellent documentary film about the evolution of documentary filmmaking, propaganda filmmaking, how the two differ and are similar and the use of both for political purposes. The series' -- To Tell the Truth -- episodes air on Mondays and Wednesdays in November. Though the series specifically addresses filmmaking, its themes taken in a larger context extrapolate aptly to any mode of communication. It's truly an interesting exposition of the interplay between audiences and speakers. I think anyone who's intrigued by the means and modes of political communication will find it highly captivating and informative. Those who find political strategy more intriguing than "retail politics," it's a "must watch" series.
To Tell the Truth - Mondays & Wednesdays in November.
Sorry not to post the video. You'll have to find it on your own. FWIW, each episode is about an hour to hour and fifteen minutes and the one I watched has no commercials. (thank God)
