Do you realize that both Russia and the US want to melt the North pole, and don't care a darn what that does to the South pole ice?
And that that in effect threatens a LOT of people due to knock-on climate effects?

solution? recycle waste properly, dumb-robotically. then produce electricity from what can be burned. filter the exhaust gasses. store the filled electricity-plant filters like chemical waste somewhere in a local desert (and not on tribal holy land, please).
