The rule on thread creation is -

When starting a new thread, please first check and confirm that there are no current threads on the same topic. Please select the forum that best relates to the subject matter of your topic. Opening posts require more than a "Copy and Paste" with a link. You need to include relevant on-topic material of your own. When posting a new topic do not use the CAPS lock.

There are more and more appearing with a short statement, and nothing else. No links, no question, no thoughts/opinions, no conclusion; just nothing.

What's got into the water supply that's causing the problem?

Mods really don't care. I even had one tell me that.
Mods DO care. There are very few of us and we don't have the time to conduct a search and see what threads have duplicate titles/topics. We really appreciate the members that report threads and give us a link to one (or more) of the duplicates. Helps us out more than you know.

Oh for cryin’ out loud.

When they over moderate, they get criticized. (I know. I oppose over moderation.)

But when they let little shit slide, they still get criticized.

I don’t normally care too much about criticism of the mods. But even I have to call bullshit on this one.

It's a case of "damned if we do, damned if we don't."

I would have to guess 70% of the threads violate the clean start rule. You all aren't going to delete 70% of the threads.

We check those that get reported.

I used to look down upon the reporting of posting rule violations.

But at some point, after I got constantly slammed because liberal wussies ceaselessly reported me for any “violation,” real or imagined, I eventually took the opportunity to apply repeated suggestion from some mods:

“Fight fire with fire.” Now? I report unclean starts and trolling and off topic bullshit — a lot more. And if candy-asses like the ever fraudulent Goonblow don’t like it, that’s fine by me. 😎

Lately I've been kind of a dick about it. Which, honestly speaking, I do not like to be. It's not really my nature.

But here's why I've been a dick about it. There are some posters in particular who constantly, no matter how many times their threads are closed or no matter how many times they're told how topical content should be framed, continue to try to trick you into clicking on a dumb thread which is often a measily one liner, no desctiption of the dumb video they're posting, or whatever dozen hashtags their link takes you to.

It's basically a guessing game on what the topic actually is until you click on their stupid link.

Which is almost always some thirty second video clip which the OP has not in any way said they feel should be discussed or why.

It's a waste of people's time.

Coming off like an asshole to the the maude staff about it is seemingly the only way to get them to deal with those types of posters consistently until they get it through their head s once and for all how the topical content should be presented.

That got me a couple of days in the hole a couple weeks ago when I mentioned about ignoing reporting of that dumb shit, but I don't really care.

Total crap OPs is not cool. :nono:
What's not cool is having to report the same thing two or three times, sometimes hours apart, while more than one maude staff is clearly, visibly online.

Total crap ops is just a product of the type of low value, weasel type posters you sometimes get on places like this. Those types aren't really looking for actual discussion. They're just pimping dumb thirty second skits from their favorite web sites to feed those other so-called ''content creators'' traffic.

They don't really even care if their thread gets closed if a maude does actually perform an action because the link to feed the traffic to them remains.

I'd delete the thread entirely on top of closing it. Eventually they'll get the message.

Pft. You don't want me as a maude, Duke. Gare awn teed you don't want me as a maude.

Even Sunset Tommy would be like ''that cat don't mess the fk around.'' lolol.

I wouldn't get passed their rigged choice voting procedure for selecting maudes anyway, even if I did want to be one of the cops.
