Count yourself fortunate. Most of us do have to contribute at least $25/year to get that Gold Supporting Member classification and it does come with benefits. Like having much much longer time to edit or add to your posts, etc. I don't mind paying that as I get that much enjoyment from USMB.

The lag times are frustrating though. When those happened on the old VBulletin platform, the admin would close long threads after awhile and we would have to start new ones. When USMB moved to the Xenforo platform we didn't have any more of that kind of problem for years. But maybe it has developed now?

You should ask admin to check into that for you. A couple of times I paid for my Gold Supporting Member update and didn't get it due to a glitch in the system. They always found the contribution though and restored that feature for me.

I'm not techno-phobic but I'm sure not smart in these tech things. I'm the IT 'expert' in our house meaning we're in a lot of trouble here a lot of the time.

I miss some of the capabilities of the old VBulletin and like many didn't care for Xenforo when we first went on this platform, but I have come to like it a lot.

I was watching for a while, we had somewhere around 6500 'guests' and around 100 or so members. After the fix, guests dropped off to around 2500 guests. It seemed ok for a while now it's pretty much back the way it was before the fix.

it's showing around 2800 guests at the moment. I think between AI scouring websites, news media probably does too to see whats trending, is whats killing this place.

There might be some truth in that but it's Face Book that is really pissing me off. If I type one letter and then "enter" it takes about 15 or 20 seconds before it registers. When I write a whole sentence ..... holy shit!
