Looks like it's designed to eliminate the problems. Might look into it.

It did the first time, then I shut off the shield like it said to. Then logged in again and it was ok.

With Shields up it blocks all cookies. You can browse but Log-in requires cookies.

Blocked 9 at first, then 16 and now 4. Looks ok.

Either some archiving needs to take place, or you are having issues with one of the - MANY - adbots.
At times it gets unusable.
There is no connection issue as there is no latency when pinging the server when the lagging occurs.
My bet - is one of the adbots is churning and churning.

OK guys. I did some digging. Essentially the server is being hammered with bots.... After making these changes the amount of traffic on the server and thus the load is much lower.

Super! I'm really glad you found this, stopped it, and filled us in here what was really going on... much appreciated.

So I still have the same issues already after the fix..... maybe less frequently.

So now I use Brave to access the site with no problems.

Give it time to clear folks. It was slightly improved last night, much better today. And I'm still running my old version Firefox 78, without clearing cookies or resetting this or doing anything.

I started a thread here on this very same thing some time ago. So few were having the problem, I figured it was some mod who didn't like me--that could be ALL of them LOL--had me on slowdown mode or something. They can do that. Make it hard to log in, difficult to post or open links or whatever.

I was just about to ask somebody to check that for me. So I'm almost relieved that it is happening to others.

I've only popped in here once or twice, but none of those persistent hangups where the pages fail to load thus far.

I'm using the Brave browser on a Mackbook Pro, btw.

I never browse the world wide web on a mobile phone. That's just asking for problems, in my view.

Better today, noticed the traffic from bots is way down, was about 6500 vs 100 members about four days ago.
