To some extent, there are at least some nearly universally accepted norms when it some to what’s considered attractive.

Why don’t think most supermodels have a very similar look/body type? Disney princesses all have conventionally good looks. The leading men in those stupid hallmark movies all have that non-threatening pretty-boy aesthetic that frumpy housewives seem to like.

If we’re talking about traditional beauty standards, it does seem to be pretty quantitative for the most part

It totally is. However some people grow up and realize it for what it is, and others never do.

The problem is it's a part of who we are, it's a part of choosing mates.

I think schools should put a lot of effort into talking about such issues, having students try and come to the conclusions themselves that the most important attributes in a partner are not physical.
