This just so sums up

I skimmed it and addressed the point that leapt out at me the most.

If you think there is something new or especially deserving that I missed, make the point in your own words.

Until you give me reason to think there is something there, you should be grateful I skimmed it.

I really could not give a shit if you skimmed it or not. The OP wasn't aimed at people like you. It was ABOUT people like you - and not in a good way.

And I refuted it's leading point, and you have failed to even try to defend it, because you know that that point was bullshit.

YOu libs are the problem.

Really? The Europeans have been disgusted with us since Reagan, and more so with Bush, and even more now with Trump.

Why is NATO still a thing if not because America is a great ally?

Because everyone wants to be on a team with that powerhouse that is Estonia? LOL!!

If your claim was right, the Europeans would have requested we pull our troops shortly after the SU broke up.

Instead they massively expanded NATO.

Let's not pretend for one second that the military industrial complex that is the undercurrent of everything the US does at a political level didn't have anything to do with keeping the US in NATO. Who do you think gets to decide if NATO exists and is expanded? Estonia?

Panama kicked us out of the Canal Zone and we left. The Philippines asked us to leave Subic Bay, and we left.

Your fantasy of America as the big bad, is just you believing what you want to believe to justify your anti-Americanism, and hate you feel in your heart.

No, I don't. My primary concern with globalism is the negative effects of "Free Trade" on the Middle Class and Working Poor here in America.
That is why Trump's America First message was so appealing to me. And to my demographic.
The socialism and communism are also issues, don't misunderstand me.

But isn't that the greatness of capitalism? The cheapest labour gets to make the products so the owners get the most bang for their buck? You mean you only like capitalism when it's in your favour? Most working class people in the big manufacturing centres in the US of yore were Dem voters. You think they're the ones who sent the jobs overseas? You think they're the ones who embraced automation? Or was it the owners of those companies? The ones who want tax breaks, lower corporate taxes, and other benefits? And do you think the latter are Dem voters?

No, it is not the "greatness of capitalism".

It is a bad trade policy and bad immigration policy. Maybe some bad labor policy too, but that is just as much the fault of the unions as the REpublicans.

Regardless, now we are at a point, where republicans are trying to improve trade policy and immigration policy to benefit those blue collar workers and you people are attacking those workers for wanting their interests represented in policy.

You are the one that brought it up. YOu don't care? Fine, Me neither. So, drop it, and don't bring it up again.

You're the one answering my posts...

Correct. I'm addressing your posts. You brought it up and I addressed your point and your response was, I don't care.

Soooo, are we done with this portion of the conversation or are there additional discussion to be had, about the fact that I did not read all of your stupid link and just skimmed it?

If yes, don't bother replying, just move on with the next point..

Total utter crap. You think all those big corporate guys who go after the cheapest labour and decide to build factories overseas are Dem voters? Really? What Kool-Aid have you been drinking?

Immigration has nothing to do with it. One of the biggest negatives of capitalism, is that in order for it to survive the population has to keep on increasing. When it fails to do so you get a debt-to-GDP ratio that goes out of control into the negative. Just ask Japan. So you need immigration to fuel the fire. Without immigration you get stagnation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's the right way, just pointing out how it works.

Considering the link was the point of the thread, then it is part of the conversation. If you can't be bothered reading the link, then why come on the thread in the first place. I'd rather you negate the piece - point by point. The fact you can't speaks volumes.

1. My point about bad trade policy being bad trade policy stands.

2. My point about bad immigration policy being bad immigration policy stands.

3. I don't understand your point about the partisan loyalty of the corporate leadership. It seems moot.

4. Immigration has plenty to do with wage stagnation. The supply of labor increases, the price ie wages, decreases.

5. THe need for a increasing population is not from capitalism, but from the Industrial Age nature of the long term entitlements, like social security and medicare.

6. Your need to blame capitalism for that, is just your marxism showing.

So, that part where you said you didn't care, that was a lie, you were just dismissing my response to your complain, with the plan to come back to it later, and pretending that your complaint was not already addressed.

Got it. YOu are a wally.

And Vietnam? Iraq? Afghanistan? Guantanamo Bay? Grenada? Not even going to go into central America in the 1980s.
And why were you in Panama and The Philippines in the first place?
Don't equate anti-Trump/Republicism as anti-American. Trump and Republicans are not America. They are part of it, but by no means are they America.

Okay, I'll spell it out for you. If you want to debate the link; read it, debunk it, or give an opinion on it. If you haven't read it, I don't care. Don't debate it. Don't debunk it. But don't whine about this, that and the other and go off on uninformed tangents.

What about Vietnam? Why does that example make it dangerous or impossible for the UK to tell US to fuck off?

Yeah, you said something like that before, and I pointed out, correctly that all I saw was the same old rehashed lefty crap.

And I addressed, and crushed the first point that seemed like the most important point of the article, from their perspective, and I asked you if there was anything else, that you thought was more or equally important worthy of discussion,

which is when you got on the false lie of, "well, I don't care".

Now, we see that you do care, you always did. YOu just couldn't be honest about that.

This is where, you, in your own words, explain what is so important about the article that it needs to be discussed.

Because in the other portion of this thread, you seem to just be throwing anti-American shit against the wall, like a monkey.

IMO, you didn't crush anything. You gave an opinion with nothing to back up other than hyperbole.
Where am I 'throwing anti-American shit against the wall'.
I don't need to explain what is important about the article. It is there in black and white. What? You want me to rewrite it? All the importants parts (bar one) I put in bullet points in the first post of thread. Maybe if you hadn't 'skimmed' it, you would have seen them.

The point being discussed is that the whining of our allies is bullshit, because their actions contradict their supposed lack of confidence or trust in US.

You brought up Vietnam, seemingly to bolster your claim, that our allies CAN'T ask US to leave, because of reasons that you are not clear on.

I've asked you to explain your reasoning, and you are expressing confusion. You don't understand what I mean.

That is where we are at.

Where have I said your allies CAN'T ask you to leave?
Of course they can. Will you though? Who knows? Depends on who's running the show in the US at the time.
Maybe you need to be more articulate instead of posting in an ad-hoc style whereby you expect somebody to be either 1) a mind reader; 2) or be able to understand a posting style where you expect the recipient to fill in the blanks.

It is silly to even imply that if any ally today, asked us to leave, that we would not leave.
