My daughter probably could not answer some of those questions like that off the top of her head, but she can manage to get electrolyte components for an EV battery from countries all over the world to her battery plant in TN. Let them use their cell phone and I bet they come up with a correct answer.
Kids today do not need to remember "trivia" like we did. When I was in school, I had to memorize mathematical formulas. That always seemed like a waste of time to me because if I have a problem, I am sure I can recognize the formula to work the problem. When I taught, I provided a formula sheet just like the one provided by the SAT and ACT when they finally outgrew the memorization strategy.
I can't tell you how many times those trigonometric identities came in handy in the Navy. [/sarcasm]
