This is Why Socialized Medicine Sucks.

Here is America almost 50% of the population has gotten at least the first Covid shot. The second Pfizer shot must be administered within 21 days for maximum effectiveness, Moderna within 28 days, So, what about Canada or England you ask?

This is a quote from a Canadian,

"Almost 1/3 of Canadians have had a first dose. However, with the 3rd wave, most of the country is still in lockdown. In Canada we are adopting a strategy of administering second doses to most at 3-4 months later as Health Canada have strong evidence pointing to better protection with the bigger gap and to get 70% effective first doses into as many people as possible as soon as possible."

This story being told to Canadian citizens is complete horseshit, They are lying. There is zero evidence that making people wait 3-4 months to get the second Covid shot is advantageous.

A quote from someone in England.

"Here in England it’s approximately a 12 week wait between Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. International travel is prohibited at the moment except under certain circumstances. Everyone is hoping that will change come 17 May when the Government is hoping to lift that restriction. The airlines (and everyone else) are waiting to find out which countries will have the ‘green light’ for travel at that point should that be the case. However, it appears that many countries will only accept fully vaccinated visitors. With a 12 week wait between doses, that could pose a problem for some. "

So tell me why socialized medicine is better?
Getting vaccinated "for free by Government regulation" is socialism.

The VA is socialism because the government owns the facilities and employs doctors, nurses and staff.
Government is socialism.

Single payor/private delivery isn't socialism, but it would stop cost shifting.

...and ignorance is bliss.
Right wingers should know, y'all never have any valid arguments for rebuttal.

Government is socialism. Right wingers blaming the problems of the world on socialism is an appeal to ignorance, like usual, for the right wing. The only reason socialism ever developed as a concept is due to the inequality inherent in Capitalism due to boom and bust cycles.

The Covid vaccine isn't about medicine. It's a hastily prepared concoction put together without the usual testing by "Big Pharma" and administered under government sanctions, schedules and regulations. We know the CDC lied about the numbers of Covid deaths. What else did they lie about?

We are in deep trouble here. We may even have to have the NHL playoffs here in a bubble. The third wave is upon us, we are shut down right now until the end of May in Ontario even as our numbers continue to be near record highs.

I find it peculiar how so many in America want to copy our system.
Wow I didn't know that...and from what I've seen on-line and in the news there seems to be way more anti mask and anti vaccine rally's in Canada...is that true?....

Socialized medicine is better because it is more cost effective.

Socialized medicine COULD BE just as good as good healthcare in the US. There's nothing stopping a country pumping in more money.

The US spends about 17% of GDP on healthcare and the UK spends 9%.

If the UK were to spend more, then the system would be better than the US's system.

Beyond that socialized healthcare is better because EVERYONE gets treated. In the US some people have great healthcare, others die because they can't afford it. As if humans are like cars, oh, it broke down, get a new one.

Tons of stories about people suffering because of that system.

Big Pharma is the problem to begin with so we should start with that.

View attachment 485832

Yes, it is. We could do so much better with drugs being made that are necessary and not just profitable.

There is also an endless amount of natural cures, which big pharma don't make money on which is why they don't promote it.

Too much greed in the US healthcare system, from big pharma to your local clinic, they rape the insurance companies, then they rape you.
How many countries in the world are standing in line to adopt the US system of healthcare?

There are plenty of people who come here for life savings procedures because of expertise that can only be found in the US. That is what is generally lacking in these other countries. You can’t expect much nearly as much exceptionalism from doctors who aren’t rewarded in proportion for their work.

It's not really about the money. It's about the industry. The industry can make a lot of money out of some procedures that may not be that common, because they're expensive. But you do have to pay for it, and not many can.

No doubt the US has some of the best surgeons in the world. But you better have good insurance and it will still cost you a pretty penny. Right now my girlfriend pays $600 a month for just normal insurance and she has to get foot surgery and it is still going to cost her a few thousand with the insurance.

I paid €600 a month for ”socialised” medicine.

Ideologues oppose any approaches that do not comport with their ideological dogma, and they will cherry-pick whatever they can contrive to justify that dogma.

Of course, no perfect formula has been found anywhere to make healthcare available to everyone, so what is it they advocate rather than oppose?

As for Americans in general, sixty-nine percent of registered voters in the April 19-20 survey support providing Medicare to every American.

Yeah and a very high percentage of those that pay no taxes are in favor of raising taxes on those that do, particularly if they are going to benefit. Go figure.

Shit care!!! I have seen it personally.

There are plenty of people who come here for life savings procedures because of expertise that can only be found in the US.
... and plenty of Americans who go elsewhere for quality care they can afford.

Screeching "Socialism!" at every advanced, democratic, capitalistic nation on earth that insures healthcare for all citizens at a cost considerably lower that what the United States spends on a system that leaves 44 million uninsured is ideological fanaticism that rages against apolitical pragmatism. (The medical costs of those 44 million uninsured are largely dumped on the taxpayer, of course.)

If the complainers have an alternative extant paradigm of any nation on earth they wish to promote, what is it?

Having insurance for health care in the first place has increase the cost exponentially.

Outlaw health insurance. That's your solution.

Do you have any credible empirical data, or are you just making that up?

Of all the nations on earth, what is the national paradigm regarding healthcare you wish to emulate?

Not sure why this needs to be explained. Most people are willing to vote for things that benefit them particularly if they don't have to pay for it. That is a well-known fact. How many college kids will tell you that it is a good idea for college to be "free"? Compare that to the percentage of taxpayers, particularly those making 500k/yr, and you will have your answer.

Difference in UK and Canada is you may die before your number comes up, whereas in the US you are treated immediately.
