It has nothing to do with the BLM Marxists or any social issue being supported by NFL teams today. It has nothing to do with their expressed hatred toward the police. It has nothing to do with the plethora of rich felons, rapists, murderers and low down thugs playing the game.

It is their disrespect for our country, it's anthem, it's flag and the people that have died defending it and saving lives as first responders. My sentiments are perfectly expressed in this 2020 video that lasts less than 6 minutes with narration of an open letter from a retired Marine that was written in 2016.

Watch the video. Read the letter. Boycott the NFL.

Commissioner,

I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and Giants Stadium.

I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt. Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.

Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.

Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country besides playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!

You are complicit in this!

You’ll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the morale courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this.

Yes, I know, it’s their 1st Amendment right to behave in such a despicable manner. What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly.

I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that’s much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem.

Hmmmmm, isn’t it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone?

Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is ok? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air.

They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game!

You condone it all by your refusal to act. You’re just as bad and disgusting as they are.

I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL.

I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not.

Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles.

They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction.

They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don’t even have ice!

Many don't have legs or arms.

Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America. They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety. On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes.

I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds.

You need to hit the road and take those worms with you!

Time to change the channel.

If the colonel were to dig deep enough into the supermarket where he shops, the dealership where he buys his car, the chain that cuts his kid's hair, he'd likely find some corporate policy in which he disagrees or some employee for those places that doesn't share his views. Would he ignore the ones who do?

Hes entitled to his opinion but really, he needs to stop being so wounded by things that don't mean anything.

And another thing, he likely readily supports entities that support the NFL. Drive a Chevy Truck? NFL sponsor. Twitter? NFL partner. Budweiser? NFL Sponsor. Proctor and Gamble? NFL Sponsor. Microsoft--big NFL sponsor. And yes...Apple...NFL partner.

Is the colonel boycotting all of those entities? Doubful.

It obviously meant something to him. And does not mean anything to you.

Edit: Everybody should watch Company of Heroes. I bought it just to share it.

forget that reason, here is the BEST reason WHY any NFL fan that cares about the integrity of the game and who hates to see a great sport tained,is why a REAl fooball fan who has a conscince would have boycotted this games years ago as i did for this reason. the NFL is far more corrupt now than it was 20 years ago before kraft became an owner.

Time to change the channel.

forget that reason, here is the BEST reason WHY any NFL fan that cares about the integrity of the game and who hates to see a great sport tained,is why a REAl fooball fan who has a conscince would have boycotted this games years ago as i did for this reason. the NFL is far more corrupt now than it was 20 years ago before kraft became an owner.

Doubful.
Corporate policies that are not on public display for millions every week who just want to see a game for an escape from the real world for a few hours, not get yet another lecture from pampered athletes playing a game on how awful is the country they sacrifice for, live in and contribute to.

And here you thought it would all safely just go away and the athletes could just go back to doing it with no consequences. Sometimes things mean things, and people don't need your approval to disapprove of it.

Seems that you want people to only have one reaction to their on-field antics. IOW, if everyone simply ignored their displays, talking heads would not mention them in interviews, etc. you would not be happy either.

You remind me of the Black Knight from Monty Python. You can call this guy a hypocrite all you want to because he doesn't jump through the hoops to satisfy you, but the bottom line remains that he has a legit gripe with the NFL and there's nothing that says he needs to watch or be quiet about his dislike. He can support and not support whomever he wants, and judging by this board, his dislike for the NFL resonates with a lot of people. Heck, I'm sure if the boycott spreads to the other corps you mentioned, you'd be front and center applauding everyone for being consistent. Of course not, you'd be complaining about the sugar cane farmers who produce sugar for Coke and the miners who produce iron and steel for Chevy. Anything to complain.

Time to change the channel.

forget that reason, here is the BEST reason WHY any NFL fan that cares about the integrity of the game and who hates to see a great sport tained,is why a REAl fooball fan who has a conscince would have boycotted this games years ago as i did for this reason. the NFL is far more corrupt now than it was 20 years ago before kraft became an owner.

Back in the days when steve grogan was their quarterback, the team that played against the bears in 85,that organization had class.

I quit supporting NFL and NBA as I cannot enjoy politics interfering with a sport. Go Woke Go Broke. My season tickets of 20 years are history like sports.
and you just had to bring back this old dead buried thread to tell us all that.

Doubful.
Corporate policies that are not on public display for millions every week who just want to see a game for an escape from the real world for a few hours, not get yet another lecture from pampered athletes playing a game on how awful is the country they sacrifice for, live in and contribute to.
weak.
I don't remember calling this guy a hypocrite.
I did allege he was lazy.

You can boycott anything you want. But in this case, said Colonel is "shopping for outrage" like nearly all of you guys on the political right. Sad.
Correction, he is expressing outrage, and there are many who agree with him. Obviously, you are out to disparage everything he has to say on the subject.

Amazingly, that is the same thing a lot of the players in the NFL are doing.... Somehow they are seen as not being "patriotic".

Is it patriotic to trash the country that made you a multi-millionaire? We hear that the very wealthy should be glad to pay confiscatory tax rates because it is the country that enabled them to become wealthy, yet we're not supposed to criticize the people who became wealthy by playing a game and still complain?

Its patriotic--the epitome of patriotism--to risk your multi-millionaire status to speak out about injustices in your nation.

It's also patriotic to speak out about those who disparage the sacrifices made for the nation. IOW, this guy's very patriotic.
