it looks like one of the better ones, not a surgical mask, but one of those you use during construction work to keep out particulates, demo work and such.

As a therapist with 30 years experience she without a doubt has an anxiety disorder along with OCD. Masks dont work when used routinely. They will also weaken the immune system and trap pathogens on the front. Touch it with your hand and now its on your hand.

I go with my 98, almost 99 year old aunt to her appointments for eye injections for her macular degeneration. These have allowed her to keep her vision though that diagnosis was many years ago.

But the weird thing is, I am in the room for many minutes while they do the required eye and pressure test and the prep. That means I am exhaling into the air in that room for quite some while. I am some feet away from her the entire time. But when they do the actual injection, I am required to put on a surgical mask.

I honestly cannot reconcile in my head how that is in any way helpful to avoid her getting an infection from the injections. (She never has.)

I worked in hospitals for a number of years when I was much younger too. But the only time I had to wear a mask were the few times I assisted (mostly as a runner) in surgical procedures.
