This is new, Trump attacks Fox News

“For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government. Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect,” Trump tweeted Monday morning.

Interesting concept inasmuch as he didn't shut down the country. He left that up to the states, and it was the various state governors who shut down the country.

Also, it is not the "Fake News Media" that is making the assertion. It is the nation's governors. Ignoring Trump, the state governors are banding together to solve the many problems as a region, not as individual states.

In March, Trump told the governors the federal government is “not a shipping clerk” for the states, leaving the states on their own.

It seems Trump just can't get it right.

“A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly," Trump said. Trump did not cite any particular legal authority.

Trump claimed that “numerous provisions” of the Constitution give him such authority, but he did not name any.

Trump did, however, put in his claim to be emperor. He described his authority as commander in chief as “total.”

“The president of the United States has the authority to do what the president has the authority to do, which is very powerful,” Trump said. “The president of the United States calls the shots.”

I guess Trump never heard of the Tenth Amendment. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

It's been over three years, and some just simply cannot grasp how he plays the game. :auiqs.jpg:

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Just watched Mike Wallace wannabe, Chris Wallace, on @FoxNews. I am now convinced that he is even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Meet the Press(please!), or the people over at Deface the Nation. What the hell is happening to @FoxNews. It’s a whole new ballgame over there!

Another Fox News host fired back at Trump after the President's immature tweet concerning Chris Wallace, host of "Fox News Sunday."

Jedediah Bila, weekend co-host of "Fox & Friends," criticized Trump for his "3rd grade name-calling," adding that Wallace "is doing his job."

"Enough with the 3rd grade name-calling. Chris is doing his job. The news should not be any president’s friend, ally, or buddy. If it bothered you when Obama complained about Fox News, but you’re silent on this complete nonsense, then just stop," she tweeted Sunday afternoon.

"Fox and Friends" is euphemistically called the "Donald Trump Show." Via phone talk, Trump often appears on "Fox and Friends" and he takes advice from the show's guests and its commentary.

The network had no idea what set Trump off.

Many are convinced that Trump is losing it. His leadership in the coronavirus pandemic is highly questionable, and nearly every poll in the country has him losing his reelection. Worse not even his supporters can defend him, and Republican leaders in Congress largely ignore him and are strangely silent about his conduct during this national emergency.

Trump is forced to be his own spokesman.

Trump is very much aware of all this, and, at times, he lashes out blindly. His tweet concerning Wallace provides an excellent example of his mental dysfunction. Wallace, "Fox and Friends," and Fox News are his friends.
Fox attacks Trump all the time.
Fox was neo-Con and is now run by Liberals and Trump is neither.

Trump claimed that it will be his decision when the nation’s businesses will reopen during the coronavirus pandemic, and not a choice left to individual governors.

But legal experts say Trump is wrong. For one, they note that U.S. law gives state governors wide latitude to protect the health and safety of their constituents. Secondly, they point out that Trump never declared a nationwide lockdown, so there’s no mechanism by which he could order a nationwide reopening.

The authority to protect the public health of U.S. citizens by directing shutdowns and shelter-in-place orders lies squarely with the nation’s governors, and not with the President.

“State and local governments have strong police power to protect their citizens and so I’m unaware of any way in which the federal government could basically try to override anything the states and cities have been doing to protect the public health of their citizens,” said William Buzbee, a professor at Georgetown University Law School and an expert in federalism.

“Since the president has mainly acted in a sort of bully pulpit sort of way, there’s nothing in particular that he would be reversing or restarting,” Buzbee added.

“I don’t see any mechanism or constitutional principle that would apply here that would allow the president to come in and overrule the governors,” Elie Honig, a legal analyst and former federal prosecutor, said.

Trump himself confirmed that governors have full control within their states to deal with this crisis.

“I like to allow governors to make decisions because from a constitutional standpoint, that’s the way it should be done,” he said. “If I disagreed, I would overrule a governor, and I have that right to do it. But I’d rather have them — you can call it ‘federalist,’ you can call it ‘the Constitution,’ but I call it ‘the Constitution’ — I would rather have them make their decisions.”

Trump gets a little mixed up at times. He talks so much he often confuses himself.

Social distancing aimed at stopping the spread of the coronavirus could have saved lives if they’d been started earlier, according to the nation’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

That comment earned Fauci a tweet from Trump on Sunday that praised his decision to issue travel restrictions against China in early February, and ended with the hashtag, "Time to FireFauci."

On Monday, Trump pushed back on the idea that he might fire Fauci. "Today I walk in, I hear I'm going to fire him." Well, that's what Trump said.

He then added, "I'm not firing him. I think he is a wonderful guy."

That is typical Trump. He thinks having it both ways is smart, not realizing it makes him look like an idiot.

Trump's explanation is even worse. It is one for the books.

Trump explained the message was a retweet and that it doesn't matter. Failing to understand that he sent the message to his dwindling number of adoring admirers, Trump said the tweet was "somebody's opinion."

Then Trump said he did notice the "fire Fauci" hashtag before he retweeted it. Great, then he is responsible for what the message to his fans said.

Is he too dense to understand that concept?

I guess so.
Well, yes if social distancing was instituted earlier maybe it could have been more effective. That doesn't mean that Trump is at fault. Why do you guys always want to blame Trump? Must be a mental illness.

I couldn't take it anymore. I had to quit watching.

I have been following Presidential press conferences for over fifty years. Trump's press conference today was a pathetic display of paranoia, narcissism, falsehood, and self-promotion that included attacks on the free press. He can't hold political rallies in auditoriums, so he holds them in the White House press room that is supposed to be for government business only. That was by far the worst press conference I have ever witnessed, and, since we are in the thirty-ninth month of Trump's Presidency, that is saying something.

These press conferences are supposed to be about the coronavirus pandemic. What a joke that is.

There is something very wrong with this guy.
I thought is was great the way Trump called out these media vermin. All the one asshole had to say is that Trump's video looked like a campaign ad. LOL!!! He had absolutely no retort because he knew Trump nailed his ass!!! Great news conference!!

Easy

Trump considers Fox News to be his personal propaganda arm and gets upset when they stray from his agenda
Democrats consider CNN to be their personal propaganda arm. They never have to get upset because it just parrots what they say.

Maybe if you believe Trump who considers any legitimate news outlet to be fake.

Now, when Fox make a legitimate criticism....Trump calls it fake
CNN is not a legitimate news outlet anymore. Fox is not far behind since the libbies took it over. At least Fox does have conservative pundits in their evening opinion shows.
Of course they are. Decades worth of award winning news coverage.

Their only fault is they are too soft on Trump

Chris Wallace is a Democrat. So his spin on any given day's events are always going to be from a Democrat's perspective.

FOX actually employs quite a few Democrats.

Nixon used the same tactics attacking the press.

Birds of a feather

"Legal expertes' say a lot of shit. So fucking what?

I love having a president who is honest and isn’t afraid to say what he thinks.

Even when he is wrong?

Even when he has no clue as to what he is talking about?

He is the President. You are very easy to please, gullible, even. I'm guessing you voted for Trump.

Nixon did not use the same tactics. You're over your skies RW.

Chris Wallace is a hack! And attacks trump every week with unfair line of questioning. Then doesn't have the balls to have on someone that can defend trump’s position.. he needs to be fired .

I love having a president who is honest and isn’t afraid to say what he thinks.
It’s a nice change from obama who would only say what his flock wanted to hear.
Did he tell you that you’re an idiot? Because that’s what he really thinks of you and the rest of the cultists.
