This is an outrage!

This is the only generation that doesn't have a TV show that involves spaceships, space travel, space battle, and intergalactic politics! The space genre might go the way of the Western! Who should get the blame? Conservatives who love dumb zombie shows, Liberals who prefer crappy soap operas, or Millennials who prefer reality show trash?

The Millennials are set to outnumber the Baby boomers. If space opera goes the way of the Western then they are deserving of the blame.

Well the whole world has turned its back on space travel unfortunately. We should have had nuclear powered spaceships going to Mars decades ago. It's an interest we haven't fostered since the moon landings and it's very sad.
If we spent most of our military budget on space exploration and technology related to that, probably we would have an SDI equivalent, a moon base, and be mining asteroids. Instead we blew the budget on multiple wars since we landed on the moon.

We had NUCLEAR-POWERED GODDAMN ROCKETS!!! A nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier can stay at sea for like 50 goddamn years! Why don't we have nuclear spaceships??? A Saturn V rocket burns out in a matter of minutes. I believe the nuclear rockets they were developing lasted for months or something like that. What the hell is wrong with us?

When NASA Had Nuclear Rockets Dr. Sten Odenwald

Science fiction is like rap music. It's a phenomenal genre. Unfortunately, the vast majority of what comes out in that genre is utterly pathetic.

Obama made it clear promoting Islamic self-esteem was the mission on NASA, not space exploration.

Probably his only success.

Fuckers believe in zombies.

Glad I don't have to share this world with them too damned much longer.

Obama's rape of NASA was a terrible thing. Unfortunately barely anyone in this country gave a damn.

Obama didn't rape anything, much less NASA. Under Obama's watch, the NASA budget has actually increased, not decreased. And it wasn't Obama that axed the shuttles. Their design and age did that for them. The Orion/SLS will put us back in the exploration business. And that is something you can "blame" Obama for. If you want more out of NASA, contact your congressional representatives and demand that NASA be given more money to achieve our space goals.

We'd be better off if we spent the money on space and asteroid mining. The knowledge and the resources would be mindblowing.

Only a complete fool could oppose it or someone that doesn't understand the reality of it.

How in the fuck is asteroid mining a feasible reality any time in the next 100 years?

It was closer to 20 billion when Obama came to power? Should be 40 billion if we wish to get to those asteroids and onto mars! Most importantly a respectable asteroid defense network is necessary.

Obama AXED Orion. It exists in spite of him. Remember the constellation program? Few do thanks to Obama.

Mark my words when we make it back to the moon and eventually make it to Mars it won't be NASA's doing. And that's a damn shame because they are the best we have and the funding we send them is pathetic.
