When you had actual talented musicians, that could play actual musical instruments, sing and dance.

A microphone and a sweat towel isn't entertainment.

It's no different than some kids beating trashcan lids on a city sidewalk for spare change. But that's what passes for entertainment these days.

To be honest, I would rather just see the halftime shows be cut aways to other venues (like New Year's Eve) and piped in on JumboTrons to the stadium. Return the Super Bowl to the fans and cease making it a corporate event.

We have to understand where the NFL is coming from! They're producing these Half-Time shows for the ignorant masses; esp. from the South! They wanted something new and different; just done with old artist and their old songs sounding strangely familiar to rednecks!
