I'm all for change. Implementing and managing change is what I do for a living, but I do not advocate change merely for the sake of changing. Neither do I advocate not changing for its own sake.
As goes conservatism and change, I can't think of any one concept that is as antithetical to conservatism's ideals than is change. Conservatism is by definition resistance to and reticence for change.
The only change that Conservatives embrace is the change from Democratic control to Republican control. Think about Trump's slogan, "Make America Great Again" and then ask yourself how does he want to do it. The answer is he wants to implement policies similar to those we had some 50 or more years ago. Sure, strictly speaking, that's change from what we have now, but considered in totality, it's a regressing not advancing. That is not the sort of change I'm keen to embrace.
