He was reaching into the open drivers and passenger side windows, grabbing onto the door pillar. The suspect hit the gas while he continued to hold onto the side and the car, and got dragged.

He could have let go, and not gotten hurt.
But he refused to let go of the suspect.

The suspect was not charged with using his vehicle as a weapon.

He could have let go, and not gotten hurt.

Both were movie examples where the driver, once incapacitated, his dead body weight pushed the controls harder than before he was shot.
