Not saying the Who stole the music from the Alan Parsons Project for this song but anything's possible. ( they were never sued for it at any rate so maybe I'm the only one who ever noticed) The first question would be why?...Townshend and Entwistle surely had the talent to come up with their own riffs even after the loss of Keith Moon.
In fact the dynamics is more intense in the Who song, especially John's bass and Pete singing....but the basic melody and time signature...etc very similar.
