The point of the thread is? If you don't like what others do ignore. I subscribe to the traditional male and female. That being said what others do DOES NOT affect me. It's not a big to do. If I let everything that bothers me in america affect me I'd never sleep and be mad 24/7. Ignore things that don't have any effect on you.
I'm guessing you're a guy, if you think this is a "Just ignore it and let other people do what they want". It DOES affect me, because what those other people want to do is to use biological women as the ambulatory props in their life movies.
It ought to be really offensive for any woman have their gender dismissed by a guy who wants to live in his own fantasy world. And if that isnt enough he DEMANDS, now by LAW, that you participate in his fantasy.
I find it incredibly offensive. I routinely refer to it as "the new male patriarchy": having a bunch of hairy penis-bearers define what is and isn't womanhood for us, and tell us to sit down, shut up, and do as we're told.
Women spent decades trying to break out of the stereotypes of femaleness being all dresses and makeup and fluffy names, and NOW look where we are: those shallow, manthink-inspired cliches are THE determinant of being a woman.
I am righteously pissed about it, and any woman who flatters herself to be in any way an heir to the likes of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton ought to be, as well. And while we're on the subject, can we talk about the government passing laws, declaring that women will henceforth do their toileting, undressing, and showering in front of whomever the government decrees that they will? Way to turn women into nothing more than government-owned strippers.
